Fusen Bead 1.0 Release Notes

Releases3 min read

Fusen Bead 1.0 is the first public release, and it follows a single rule: your image never leaves the browser. Decoding, pixelation, color matching and export all run locally. There is no upload endpoint.

What is included

  • Image import: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF, up to 20 MB per file.
  • Pixelation: resize to a bead grid with average or dominant-color pooling to reduce noise.
  • Color matching: nearest-neighbour matching against the selected brand chart, with real color codes.
  • Background removal: boundary flood fill with an adjustable threshold.
  • Merge similar colors: collapse shades the eye cannot separate, reducing the color count.
  • Pattern export: a printable, paginated pattern sheet with grid, coordinates and color codes.
  • Shopping list: bead counts per color code, exportable as CSV.

Known limitations

  • No PWA offline install yet; planned for a later release.
  • Chinese glyphs rely on system fonts; no CJK font subset is bundled.
  • Color charts change as brands update them — the version shown in the tool is authoritative.

Price and plans

The free tier can already generate and export patterns, limited by grid size and a few advanced parameters. Paid tiers unlock larger grids, paginated PDF export and a commercial-use license. The full comparison lives on the plans page.

What comes next

Three things come first: making color codes readable on small cells, a focus mode that guides you color by color, and more complete color chart data. If something breaks, the address in the footer reaches us.
